About Julia

Julia Hoffmann is a Ukrainian-American, NYC-based AEA/SAG-AFTRA actor, violinist, singer, dancer, Artistic/Music Director, yogi and writer.

So basically, she has a ton of free time.

Julia tends to be cast as either a sweet young woman, rockstar, or, a completely wacky, off-the-wall character. She's reminiscent of a young Lauren Lapkus and enjoys being silly as much as she loves digging into gritty roles. Her juxtaposition isn't what you'd expect but you might be surprised in the direction she can take a character! As a violinist, she's a Lindsey Stirling-type (yes, she can fly!) with her own unique flavor.

Julia has her BFA in Acting from Shenandoah Conservatory and is a proud National Theater Institute (Royal Shakespeare Company/Complicité) and Moscow Art Theater alumna. Recently, Julia studied in NYC at the Anthony Meindl Studio, The Pit, Broadway Dance Center and with award-winning director, Joe Whelski. She currently studies voice with Tyler Knauf.

Julia has been featured on the national tours of Once the Musical (U/S Girl, Réza, Ex-Girlfriend), Rockin' Road to Dublin (Female Fiddler), Cirque Musica: Holiday Wishes (Flying Violinist) and Christmas in Killarney (Fiddler).

Her favorite regional theater credits include: Spitfire Grill (Percy Talbott), Once the Musical (Réza/Ex-Girlfriend), Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 (Ensemble), Smoke on the Mountain (Denise Sanders), Buddy, the Buddy Holly Story (Mary Lou/Shirley), Annie (Boylan Sister), Hello, Dolly! (Waiter/Stenographer) and The Curious Savage (Florence). She has also recently Co-Starred on the Apple TV series, Dickinson as "The Fiddler".

Aside from acting and playing music, Julia is a certified yoga teacher. She teaches at Phat Buddha Wear (PBX) in NYC. Her passion is teaching yoga and meditation to artists struggling with anxiety and depression stemming from the industry through her new workshop: CompassionART.

Julia currently serves as the Artistic Director of Soyulla Artists, a music company based in New York City.
